About our opportunity: The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic works in the City’s Fleet Services Division in the Capital & Asset Management Department. The main duties of this position are to perform routine maintenance of heavy equipment and to assist other members of the Fleet Services team with complex repairs. The purpose of this classification is to maintain and repair City-owned trucks and heavy equipment.
