Injury Management Advisor

Job Purpose

DP World is seeking an Injury Management Advisor to join our Melbourne team. In this role, you will oversee the safe, timely and cost-effective return of employees to their pre-injury duties, leading outcome-focused case management of work-related injuries while ensuring legislative compliance and continuous improvement. Uniquely, this role is primarily focussed on implementing early intervention strategies to support sustainable outcomes for our employees.

Working closely with internal stakeholders including employees, operations and senior management, you will also partner with external providers such as insurers and medical professionals to support positive outcomes. Your role will be support by administrative resources as well as transitioning longer term, complex cases to other team resources enabling you to maximise your early intervention and return to work skills.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday, and involves travel between various operational sites as part of its requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage internal stakeholders to integrate early injury management processes with business needs, ensuring timely communication of restrictions and return-to-work plans
  • Implement early intervention strategies to support safe, timely and sustainable return to pre-injury duties
  • Build trusted relationships with injured employees, leaders and external stakeholders to support effective case management and early intervention
  • Focus on identifying and removing barriers to return to work including collaboration with external treating health professionals.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Return-to-Work Coordinator qualification
  • Allied health and/or occupational rehabilitation experience (highly desirable)
  • 2+ year’s experience in worker’s compensation and return-to-work processes within an industrial environment. (highly desirable)
  • Proven experience in developing and managing return-to-work plans, documentation and reporting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and align multiple parties
  • Proficient in MS Office, with demonstrated knowledge of injury management protocols and strong capabilities in initiative, accountability, teamwork and quality focus
