Summary
Performs duplex scanning of carotid arteries, upper and lower extremity veins, upper and lower extremity arteries, abdominal aorta, aortic, hepatic and portal flow systems, PW or CW insonation of cerebral arteries transcranially, and peripheral arteries. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Education:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma and at least 2 years (24 credit hours) of career oriented college
credits in related discipline. Each year of experience may replace 12 credit hours of college.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Vascular Technology

Experience:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year in vascular studies. Knowledge of Doppler for arterial and venous circulation
evaluation

Certifications:

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Must be Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT),
Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life
Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of
hire.
