Job Description
**Job Description: Animal Identification & Microchipping – Sales (All
India)**
Role Purpose :
To drive sales, adoption, and market penetration of A*nimal* identification and traceability solutions, including microchipping, ear tagging, and related digital systems, by working with livestock owners, dairy farms, government bodies, institutions, and channel partners across India.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Promote and sell animal identification solutions (Animal tags, microchips, readers, traceability systems)
- Develop business opportunities with: Dairy farms & organized livestock farms Government animal husbandry departments FPOs, cooperatives, and NGOs Veterinary institutions and integrators
- Achieve assigned sales targets (volume, revenue, geographic coverage)
- Identify and drive state-level and national tenders/projects related to animal traceability
- Execute field visits, demonstrations, and pilot projects
Customer Education & Adoption
- Educate farmers, veterinarians, and officials on: Benefits of animal identification (traceability, disease control, insurance, productivity) Importance of microchipping in livestock management
- Explain technology in simple, practical, farmer-friendly language
- Support onboarding and coordinate with technical teams for implementation
- Ensure customer satisfaction, renewals, and long-term adoption
Channel & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with: Distributors, dealers, and channel partners Government stakeholders (AH departments, NDLM projects) Veterinarians and influencers
- Support marketing activities: Farmer awareness programs Veterinary camps Livestock expos and field events
Project & Institutional Sales
- Engage in large-scale identification programs (government & institutional)
- Coordinate execution of bulk tagging/microchipping drives
- Manage documentation, compliance, and reporting for institutional projects
Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Maintain accurate sales reports, CRM/MCL updates, and visit reports
- Track competitor activities, pricing trends, and policy changes
- Share field insights and farmer feedback with management
Qualification, Experience & Education
Education
- Graduate/Postgraduate (Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, or related field preferred)
Experience
- 1–5 years in: Animal health / livestock industry Dairy inputs / farm equipment Identification systems / agri-tech / government projects
- Experience in institutional or tender-based sales is an advantage
- Freshers with strong livestock exposure and field orientation may be considered
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to explain technical solutions in simple local language
- Understanding of livestock management & traceability concepts
- Experience in dealing with government stakeholders (added advantage)
- Willingness to travel extensively across regions/states
- Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and digital reporting tools
