Senior Software Developer - Innovative Systems Support

qualifications. JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Software Developer is responsible for performing advanced
applications design, development, implementation, and support functions
including enterprise applications integrations, data modeling, transforming
and delivering. This position is responsible for providing technical and
analytical guidance to applications team members and interacting with the user
community to improve business processing and user understanding of their
applications software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Identifies, analyzes, designs, develops/configures software and systems
applications (in-house developed and third party) to ensure processes and
functionality of the applications comply with the organization’s
requirements and development standards.
• Researches, plans, develops, tests, implements, and supports internal &
external interfaces and workflows among existing and new application/data
management portfolios and platforms to produce seamless integration and
process flows.
• Investigates, analyzes, and makes recommendations to management regarding
technology improvements, upgrades and modifications
• Works with key internal stakeholders and external vendors to influence
the direction of third-party applications.
• Implements periodic maintenance releases of applications, interfaces,
work/flows, data models and reports including enhancements, redesign, and
defect correction.
• Manages entire project workflow from development to deployment and
launch.
• Identifies risks associated with implementing large projects.
• Conducts code review and assessment of less experienced colleagues.
• Independently identifies and solves problems based on experience.
• Provides technical and analytical guidance to other developers and
applications team members.
• Provide production support for the applications portfolio(s) and
associated integration, workflows, data models and reports.
• Consult with the user community to improve software applications
effectiveness.
• Develop/maintain documentation for application portfolio, interface and
workflow, data model and report support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
DECISION MAKING
• This position works under limited supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or
related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized
accrediting agency.
• 7 years’ progressively responsible experience in designing,
developing/configuring implementing and supporting software applications (in-
house developed and third party).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS SUPPORT)
• Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or
related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized
accrediting agency.
• 7 years’ experience developing, implementing, and deploying .NET
solutions into Microsoft Azure Cloud
• 7 years’ experience working in Azure environment with Azure resources
(App Services, APIM, Service Bus, Functions, Bot Services, webjobs, Logic
Apps, etc.)
• 7 years’ experience contributing and executing large scale web user
interface project including ecommerce, content portals and mobile responsive
application design.
• Proven experience with Oracle and SQL server database systems using
SQL/PLSQL.
• Strong project management skills.
JOB DIMENSIONS
• Knowledge of Microsoft office, MS Project, Visio, Crystal report writer,
SSRS.
• Skill in the use of programming tools such as: Visual Studio .NET, Web
Services, SOAP and RESTful API, XML, AJAX, PL/SQL developer, VBScript,
JavaScript, AngularJs, Node.js, and SSIS.
• Skill in using Windows operating systems.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Visio.
• Skill in using Data Warehouse concepts, tools, and Crystal reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
internal and external customers, contractors, consultants, and governmental
agencies.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of up to 15 pounds,
visual acuity, speech, and hearing. Working conditions are primarily in the
office environment but occasional outside field situations could require the
use of basic personal protective equipment. May be required to travel. May
drive a company and/or personal vehicle when performing duties at field
locations.
May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule including nights and weekends.
