The Clinical Nurse provides direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients across the continuum of care. The role requires rapid clinical assessment, sound judgment, and adherence to professional nursing standards in a high- acuity, fast-paced environment. The Clinical Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient-centered care, safeguards patient rights, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. Practice is aligned with organizational values, quality improvement principles, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Deliver direct nursing care based on comprehensive assessment of physical, psychosocial, developmental, educational, and spiritual patient needs.
- Develop, implement, document, and communicate goal-directed plans of care.
- Monitor patient status and promptly identify, escalate, and respond to changes requiring clinical intervention.
- Maintain a safe patient care environment and comply with infection control and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to coordinate care and support clinical decision-making.
- Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and organizational initiatives.
- Serve as charge nurse or preceptor when assigned, supporting unit operations and staff development.
- Maintain required competencies, continuing education, and mandatory training.
