YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As a Project Coordinator within the TCEQ’s Office of Water, you will join the Water Rights Permitting Team in the Water Availability Division’s Water Rights Permitting and Data Section. You will work with other experienced staff from the Water Rights Technical Review Section to process highly complex water right permit applications.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for processing and completing advanced reviews of applications for Texas water rights, including developing draft permits and public notices. You may be called upon to provide advanced level support in public meetings, alternate dispute resolutions, and Commission agenda meetings and serve as an expert witness in contested case hearings.

The position requires advanced project coordinating skills and the ability to communicate technical or regulatory information to applicants, agency staff, water rights stakeholders, and the public.

Specifically, you will:

  • Serve as Project Coordinator for complex water rights applications to ensure administrative requirements are met, coordinate with technical staff, and prepare draft permits and public notices according to state statutes, rules, and policies.

  • Communicate with agency staff, applicants, or applicant representatives regarding inquiries related to complex water rights applications, processes, and related statutes and rules.

  • Develop information to support responses to legislative or other public or internal inquiries.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Texas statutes, rules, and policies for surface water rights.

  • Experience processing and reviewing highly complex water rights permit applications.

  • Advanced business or technical writing skills.

  • Experience conducting research and analyzing information/ data.

  • Experience making presentations and communicating with the public.

  • Experience collecting, organizing information and/ or tracking milestones for projects.
