Legal Assistant II (Open Records and Research Liaison)

This position performs moderately complex (journey-level) legal assistant work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Work involves researching and responding to Public Information Act requests, coordinating certain legal activities, and assisting attorneys with case management.

This position:

· Receives, processes, and responds to open records requests.

· Reviews and redacts confidential information from investigation, complaint, and case files.

· Prepares legal correspondence and other documents.

· Assembles and prepares evidence, exhibits, affidavits, and documents for use in legal proceedings.

· Maintains and archives complex legal files and records.

· Performs other duties as assigned.
