HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a CEI Inspector with experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), particularly on Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) projects.

Key Responsibilities
- The Inspector will be assigned to work in Nashville or Chattanooga, TN.
- Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
- Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors.
- Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Sets own project deadlines.
- Provides on the job training to new employees.
- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
- Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Tracks quality assurance progress.
- Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years of related CEI experience including work on TDOT projects.
- Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold.
- Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible.
- Daily travel and or overnight stays may be required depending on project needs.
- Valid TN Driver's license, have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Successful completion of drug screening and background check

- TDOT Aggregate Certified Testing Technician
- TDOT Concrete Certified Field Technician
- TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Plant Technician
- TDT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Roadway Technician
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Tennessee Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
