Kennel Technician

Ranch Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and compassionate Full-Time Kennel Technician to join our growing team in Bradenton, Florida.

Compensation and Schedule


Compensation:
$16.50–$18.00 per hour based on experience

What You'll Do

As a Kennel Technician, you will help ensure our patients receive exceptional care while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Patient & Boarding Care

  • Feed, walk, exercise, and monitor boarding and hospitalized pets
  • Provide compassionate handling and daily care for dogs and cats
  • Administer medications as directed by the veterinary team
  • Monitor patient behavior and report concerns promptly

Hospital & Facility Support

  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and hospital equipment
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized hospital environment
  • Assist with laundry, stocking supplies, and daily operational tasks

Team Collaboration

  • Support veterinarians, technicians, and reception staff as needed
  • Assist with patient restraint and animal handling when appropriate
  • Help ensure smooth daily hospital operations and patient flow

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in animal care, boarding, kennel operations, veterinary medicine, or a related field preferred
  • Comfortable working with dogs and cats of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working around animal dander, cleaning products, veterinary chemicals, and varying noise levels
  • Ability to safely handle and restrain animals when necessary
