Environmental Project Manager

Location: Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Florida
Contract: THANOS
Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site

The Environmental Project Manager (EPM) will provide full-time support at CCSFS , managing environmental projects. The EPM will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of environmental projects including the preparation of NEPA documents and cultural resource investigations in support of Space Force missions, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • Serve as Project Manager for environmental projects, including archaeological and cultural resource studies
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage contractors conducting field investigations, surveys, and reporting efforts
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including:
    • National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
    • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
    • Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA)
    • Section 106 consultation requirements
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, including Space Force Civil Engineering, Environmental, and Cultural Resource personnel
  • Manage subcontractors and technical teams (archaeologists, environmental scientists, GIS specialists)
  • Develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets; track progress and ensure deliverables meet contract requirements
  • Prepare and review technical reports, including cultural resource assessments, archaeological survey reports, and environmental documentation
  • Support design and construction projects by identifying and mitigating environmental and cultural resource constraints
  • Participate in meetings, briefings, and design reviews as required
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to contract and regulatory requirements

What you'll need


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience managing environmental projects
  • Demonstrated experience with federal environmental compliance (NEPA, NHPA)
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at CCSFS


Preferred:

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or Space Force environmental programs
  • Experience with Section 106 consultation and State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) coordination


Security Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain base access at CCSFS
  • U.S. Citizenship required


Work Environment

  • Primarily on-site at CCSFS with occasional fieldwork
