Radiation Effects Engineer
As our Radiation Effects Engineer you will be responsible for analyzing and testing candidate electronics for our spacecraft. This position requires hands-on experience validating parts for radiation environments specific to aerospace.
Role
- Support the design of fault tolerant electrical systems for operating in a radiation environment
- Simulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environments on PCBA designs
- Coordinate and run radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components
- Develop fault-tolerant systems & operations into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team
- Support other electrical design, bringup, and test activities
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent technical field
- A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
- Experience with electrical design
- Experience designing and testing for radiation effects
- Experience in testing analog and digital circuits
- Experience with fault-tolerant high reliability systems
- US Citizenship or Green Card
Bonus
- Experience developing electrical designs in space or other high-radiation environments
- Experience with the Geostationary radiation environment (TID, SEE, DDD)
- Experience running tests at radiation labs
- Experience with designing dosimeter circuits
- ECAD + MCAD Experience (Altium, Solidworks)
