Warehouse/Forklift Operator

Position Overview
The Warehouse/Forklift operator will be responsible for loading merchandise and helping customers with any needs, receiving material, loading AGS trucks and sub-contractor trucks for delivery, all while following the proper safety guidelines. This person must be able to lift weight, be able to recognize inventory and be comfortable helping customers and coworkers to assure material is properly loaded and customer is satisfied.
Essential Job Functions
- Have full knowledge of inventory to assure correct material is received, loaded, and unloaded
- Preparing, inspecting, maintaining, and operating the fork lift
- Conducting daily pre-trip inspection form and submitting prior to operating fork lift
- Responding to and dealing with customer communication by following ticket instructions
- No incorrect material loaded on any vehicle
- Have full knowledge of inventory to assure correct material is loaded before trucks leave warehouse
- Maintain constant communication with the logistics office and other loaders to avoid errors
- Mark discrepancies on ticket and take back to Logistics Department before truck leaves warehouse
- Turn in complete paperwork to Logistics Department
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while in the warehouse/metal yard
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers to improve overall customer service
- Attend monthly warehouse meetings to review opportunities for efficiency within the shipping and delivery process
- Be willing to help drivers and coworkers when time requires it
- Support driver checking tickets returning from job sites or vendor pick-ups and receiving material
- Communicate with Safety Manager when necessary
- Report work injuries to supervisor or Safety Manager the same day they occur
- Report absences in advance to supervisor to help coordinate daily deliveries
- Demonstrate a positive attitude to show customers their business is appreciated
