Field Installation engineer

Rail Vision is looking for a hands-on Field Installation engineer to join our team and play a key role in deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and validating our advanced railway vision systems in Israel and abroad.

This is a unique position that combines field engineering, system integration, troubleshooting, and support for R&D validation activities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and R&D Engineers, ensuring our systems perform reliably in real- world railway environments.

Important to Know: This is a hands-on field Installation engineering role , primarily based in railway environments across Israel and at customer sites worldwide. The role requires comfort with outdoor work, heights, and active railway environments, as well as a hands-on approach to solving technical problems on site.

Responsibilities

  • Install, integrate, and commission Rail Vision systems at customer sites.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on deployed systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical, and communication issues in the field.
  • Execute field validation and testing activities for the R&D team.
  • Collect logs, analyze system behavior, and provide detailed feedback to engineering teams.
  • Work independently in the field while collaborating closely with internal technical teams.
  • Support customer demonstrations, pilots, and acceptance tests.
  • Prepare technical reports and document field activities.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support installations, testing, and customer projects.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on technical experience in Field Service, System Integration, Technical Support, Installation, or similar roles, with integrated hardware and software products.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Israel and internationally.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with cameras and/or optics – an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems – an advantage.
