Combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. Install, operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic/mechanical systems. Job tasks involve both working with engineers to develop electrical/mechanical systems and assembly line production work. Task will be performed with limited guidance of higher classified technicians.
Working Procedure:
- Perform difficult manufacturing assignments under minimum supervision
- Align, fit, or assemble component parts to complete a system
- Assemble and repair hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies
- Test and troubleshoot Electro-mechanical assemblies for proper operation
- Read manufacturing outlines for electronic products, read schematics, read technical drawings
- Understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings -- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
- Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material -- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
- Develop and train lower classified employees as required
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of formal technical training (via military or civilian technical schools) required.
Experience Requirement: Minimum of 7 years of electrical or mechanical experience required.
