Job Description
Managing and promoting defense and security solutions across Orange’s
European markets.
Reporting directly to the Head of strategy, innovation and partnership of the
Defense and Security Business Unit. You will be responsible of the strategic
positioning of the Defence & Security division on European institutional
opportunities, collaborating with Orange countries , driving the Orange
defense and security in order to influence European Union stakeholders,
coordinate internal contributions (innovation, country entities, business
lines, ELOB), and secure access to collaborative programmes, funding schemes
and European calls for proposals with high strategic value.
The role contributes directly to DDS business development, innovation,
European technological sovereignty, the Group’s profile on Defence, Security
and Resilience matters.
You will act as the owner of the Defense and Security Business Unit at Orange
Business and orchestrating and helping the defense and security development of
in Orange countries, facilitating go-to-market strategies, proof of concepts,
and community engagement.
Also you will be the owner of the identified leads coming from Europe division
countries, driving and coordinating it properly inside the Defense and
Security BU.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Coordination to support D &S strategy deployment and Portfolio
Management
Your first goal as owner of DDS is to drive the responses to European funds
with Orange Innov, the Orange countries, ELoB, OBI and the relevant business
unit.
Orchestrate the development of DDS international activity and coordinate
closely with the ELOB manager in Brussels and Orange Business International to
collect the needs of countries regarding defense and security, and recommend
the most suitable solutions tailored to local contexts while DDS remains the
orchestrator of the defense and security for Orange Group
Collaborate with country sponsors to develop and monitor strategies for
deploying defense and security solutions.
Follow up on EU funding requests for security and defense projects in
partnership with the Brussels office.
Develop expertise in business development within the defense and security
sectors across the targeted countries.
Strategic Intelligence & European Opportunities with the active support of
ELOB
Maintain continuous monitoring of strategic priorities driven by European
institutions in particular: European Commission,European Defence Fund,DG
DEFIS,DG CONNECT,European Space Agency,European Defence Agency
Map and assess relevant calls for proposals and funding mechanisms, including:
EDF,Horizon Europe,Digital Europe,EDIP,SAFE,CEF Digital
Cybersecurity Calls
Space / Security programmes
Resilience / critical infrastructure programmes
Identify emerging topics creating competitive advantage for the Defence &
Security Vertical: sovereign AI, cyber defence, critical communications,
trusted cloud, secure edge, drones / C-UAS...
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in portfolio management, business development, or project
management within technology sectors.
- Deep understanding of European defense and security issues, including
European funding mechanisms (EU funds, security programs, etc.).
- Deep understanding of military and security strategy and doctrine, concept
of operations, technology, programme management, European financing tools and
contractual instruments
- Deep understanding of Defense and security technologies
- Strong experience in go-to-market strategies, proof of concepts, and
product demonstrations.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate
technical and strategic messages to diverse audiences.
- Ability to build and nurture a community of defense stakeholders, fostering
collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Fluency in English and French; additional European languages are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
tools.
- Sensitivity to confidentiality, ethics, and handling sensitive issues
related to defense and security.
