Stockkeeper I (Park Management)

Perform a variety of duties related to stockkeeping, inventory control, purchasing and supply and delivery of parts, tools and equipment to City departments; maintain records of billing and invoices and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Job Descriptions are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  1. Order, purchase and receive materials and parts from vendors and the City warehouse; assure billing numbers match material ordered; maintain forms and records of purchases.
  2. Issue or deliver parts, tools and material to City departments or employees; maintain stock in warehouse; check computer entries to comply with purchase rules and regulations.
  3. Move and reorganize material in warehouse to accommodate new stock; participate in surveying inventories and salvaging surplus supplies and equipment.
  4. Assist other departments in the ordering of material and parts; pick up mail and computer data from designated areas; answer telephone as required.
  5. Inspect parts and material for damage, quantity and conformity to specifications; report discrepancies; clean and rotate stock.
  6. Maintain assigned office or warehouse area; clean as needed; remove obsolete items and prepare for auction.
  7. Operate warehouse material handling equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner; perform routine maintenance; report needed repairs.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

High school diploma or GED; and

Two (2) years experience of experience in any combination of the following areas:

  • working in a warehouse
  • central store operation

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: **

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.Environmental:
Warehouse, shop or office environment; exposure to computers, dust and noise.

Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for light to moderate lifting; climbing, bending and stooping; and operating motorized warehouse equipment and vehicles.
