Role Summary and Impact
As a Media Planner, you will support the development and
execution of integrated media plans across assigned film titles. You will play
a key role in campaign planning, data analysis, and execution, while
collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver accurate,
insight-driven media strategies. This role offers the opportunity to grow
within a fast-paced agency environment and contribute directly to client
success.
The Media Planner provides
support to senior team members, contributes to overall client service
requirements, and assists in the development, execution, and maintenance of
media plans.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Support the development
and execution of holistic media plans aligned with client strategy
- Collaborate with
Research Leads, Planning Managers, and senior stakeholders to analyze first-
party, syndicated, and platform data to inform audience insights and
recommendations
- Assist in campaign planning activities across all assigned
titles
- Create, maintain, and update media plan documents, ensuring
accuracy across formulas, data, and links
- Conduct quality assurance checks across
digital and OOH plans, including validation of “weeklies”
- Prepare client-ready
materials, including plan updates and supporting documentation
- Capture detailed notes
during internal and client meetings and distribute key takeaways in a timely
manner
- Identify and communicate implications of plan changes to senior
stakeholders
- Assist in the development of strategic POVs and planning
recommendations
- Apply knowledge of media fundamentals including SOV, Reach,
Frequency, and CPM
- Build and maintain relationships with media vendors and partners to
support planning initiatives
- Support client communications across email and
phone as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve campaign issues,
support trafficking, and assist with billing and invoice reconciliation
- Stay current on
media trends and proactively share insights with internal teams
- Support the onboarding
and training of Assistant Planners
Your Skills & Behaviour:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
and generate actionable insights
- High attention to detail, particularly in
managing data and planning documents
- Strong organizational and time management skills
in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage
multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Foundational understanding of media planning
concepts and metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and media planning tools
- Proactive
mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
Your Education and Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in media planning, buying, or a
related field
- Post-secondary degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or
a related discipline is an asset
