Senior Contract Analyst

Job Summary The Senior Contract Analyst is a pragmatic, business-oriented contracts professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys building scalable processes. The position requires strong thought leadership and execution skills, along with the ability to interpret financial, legal, and operational aspects of contracts to ensure successful implementation. The individual is comfortable managing a high-volume of commercial contracting work, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and helping institutionalize contracting best practices to improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and ensure timely delivery of client and organizational commitments. Additionally, the role supports contract lifecycle management, negotiation, and departmental process improvements while maintaining alignment with company policies and objectives. The position serves as a champion for organizational and business process change, driving initiatives that support company-wide strategic goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Draft, review, and advise on the negotiation of confidentiality agreements, client and vendor services agreements, procurement agreements (facilities, information technology, purchasing, etc.), statements of work, work orders, amendments or change orders, and related agreements Interpret and apply contract terms across financial, legal, and operational contexts Exercise sound judgment and independently manage day-to-day agreements while monitoring legal risks Provide guidance to colleagues to ensure timely and efficient contract execution Ensure compliance with company policies and processes to protect the company's interests Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address contractual matters Serve as an administrator for company-wide agreement workflow and repository system (contract lifecycle management platform), including creating or optimizing templates, playbooks, and intake processes Lead and support change management initiatives for department to drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness Support strategic planning and execution of department operational initiatives and projects Assist in updating departmental processes, templates, and management tools Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and external clients/vendors for contract execution Maintain accurate contract tracking and status reporting tools Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure project compliance and progress Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in science, business, or marketing related discipline 4-7 years contract administration or related experience Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a contract research organization and/or research setting preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above Skills and Ability Highly organized self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and ownership Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, and administration of commercial agreements with ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate (written and verbal) clearly and effectively across functions internally and externally Ability to interpret financial, legal, and operational contract terms and apply them effectively Demonstrated change management skills, with the ability to lead and support organizational transformation initiatives Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address moderate to complex contractual issues Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines Knowledge of risk management principles and ability to safeguard contractual and legal interests Strong organizational skills, including contract tracking and maintaining accurate documentation Ability to de-escalate conflicts and propose practical, business-aligned solutions Understanding of financial concepts such as cash flow, deposits, and payment alignment Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and contract management systems Ability to interpret and apply internal policies, procedures, and compliance requirements Supervisory Responsibilities: None Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the occupant is regularly required to: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged use of computer and headphones for conference calls. Communicate effectively via phone, video, and email. Use hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment.
