Lower School Judaic Studies Teacher

Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking full-time experienced Judaic Studies teachers to teach Ivrit and Humash in our lower school division for the 2026-27 school year. We are looking for educators who bring warmth, intellectual curiosity, and a deep commitment to Jewish learning and Hebrew language instruction. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, pleasant, flexible, and hard-working professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Ivrit (Hebrew language) and Humash in the Lower School

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons

  • Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, inquiry, and joyful learning

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs

  • Collaborate closely with grade-level teams and the Judaic Studies department

  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families

Qualifications:

  • Native Hebrew speaker (required)

  • Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Judaic Studies, or a related field

  • Classroom teaching experience (required)

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Commitment to teamwork and professional growth
