At Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, we design and manufacture professional turf-care equipment under the brands of Ransomes and Jacobsen. We recognise that our success, and future success, is tied directly to our people. We are looking for an Autonomy Systems Engineer to join the Company in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the Role

As an Autonomy Systems Engineer, you will develop and integrate the onboard autonomy stack for Jacobsen vehicles. This role focuses on vehicle-level system integration, safety-critical architecture, and embedded implementation, supporting the transition from prototype systems to production-ready autonomous platforms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead integration of the autonomy stack (perception, localisation, planning, control) onto vehicle platforms;
  • Design and implement safety systems, including safety controllers and safe stop functionality;
  • Develop and integrate embedded software and vehicle control interfaces (CAN, drive-by-wire);
  • Define and deliver sensor integration (LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS/IMU);
  • Execute vehicle-level testing and validation, including field trials;
  • Support functional safety activities (HARA, safety case, certification readiness);
  • Other duties as required.
