We 're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.
We are hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join the Cloud, DevOps & Security team at VXI. This is an entry-level role focused on supporting day- to-day cloud infrastructure operations, including VM lifecycle management, IAM administration, networking configuration, CI/CD pipeline maintenance, and infrastructure-as-code execution under the guidance of senior team members.
The role is designed for candidates beginning their career in cloud engineering who want structured exposure to a production multi-service cloud environment and a clear growth path into mid-level cloud engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provision, manage, and decommission virtual machines and related cloud
resources following defined runbooks
Execute IAM role assignments, group memberships, and access reviews per
established access policies
Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including pipeline configuration
updates, troubleshooting failed builds, and deployment automation
Apply infrastructure-as-code changes (Terraform or equivalent) under code
review
Assist with basic networking configurations (VPC rules, firewall changes,
routing) under supervision
Monitor cloud resource utilization and flag cost or performance anomalies
Maintain documentation of infrastructure changes, runbooks, and standard
operating procedures
Participate in on-call rotation as competency develops (not from day one)
Progressively take on higher-complexity tasks under mentorship
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
field (or equivalent practical experience)
Hands on experience in cloud, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
(internships, academic projects, or certifications acceptable)
Foundational understanding of at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or
Azure)
Working knowledge of Linux fundamentals — file system structure, permissions,
shell commands, and safe command execution practices
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, subnets, firewalls)
Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Demonstrated ability to follow documented procedures precisely and escalate
when situations fall outside scope
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud certifications (GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, AWS Cloud Practitioner /
Solutions Architect Associate, or equivalent)
Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation)
Basic scripting in Python or Bash for automation
Exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) concepts
Prior internship or project experience involving cloud infrastructure
deployment.
