The Charlotte-based Tegna Service
Center has an opening for a Broadcast Engineer. This
position is responsible for integration, maintenance, operation and support of
broadcast equipment and reports to the Head of Technology and Operations. This
is an hourly position.
Responsibilities:
• Good
verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability
to think on their feet, work well with others and be a self-starter. A team
player who is focused on quality customer service for internal/external
customers.
• Support day-to-day operations of
broadcast systems in a primary hub environment that supports the air paths and
OTT of all Tegna stations across the US.
• Create
and maintain wiring documentation and system configuration
documentation.
• Maintain knowledge and stay current
on technological advances including television broadcasting and associated
broadcast equipment.
• Willing to train, if
required, on IT and broadcast system operation and maintenance to service all
aspects of the television hub environment.
• Ability
to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, pull and
install wiring, use had and power tools, work on small components and perform
other physical tasks.
• Other duties as
assigned.
Requirements:
• Associate
Degree in Electronics, Communications OR equivalent combination of education
and work-related experience preferred.
• Minimum
three years' broadcast maintenance experience in a television broadcasting
environment or hub.
• In-depth knowledge of
broadcast technologies including; broadcast distribution, signal processing,
routing systems, video servers, media workflows, automation and control.
• Ability to work well and make solid decisions
under pressure.
• Must be able to work a flexible
schedule in support of a 24x7x365 operation.
