We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to serve as a leader within Payroll Services, who will be responsible for delivering payroll and client satisfaction, resulting in best in class service. This role will be a payroll subject matter expert and systems expert, in order to be a go-to for Paymasters and clients. As a team manager, this role will manage the team’s daily workflow, consistently evaluating, monitoring and refining the tasks in order to ensure payroll is delivered accurately and on-time, per Service Level Agreements. Additionally, as a team manager this role will be responsible for cultivating and motivating employees to achieve their best performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage team workflow, ensuring capacity standards are met and work is
equitably distributed, based on data analysis and performance metrics
• Ensure accurate delivery of payroll by evaluating team capacity and
coverage, ensuring Salesforce is utilized correctly, and understanding team
skill set
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, making enhancements
where value and efficiencies can be added
• Communicate with clients as needed, managing challenging situations
• Serve as an escalation and solution point for how-to pay questions,
client concerns, and any other issues, escalating to senior Payroll Services
leadership, if needed to resolve all outstanding matters
• Represent Payroll Services when working with other departments
• Responsible for team accountability, by providing leadership, direction
and motivation
• Facilitate continuous employee growth and development through training,
coaching and performance management
• Support team morale and employee career satisfaction
• Collaborate with other Payroll Services teams and support cross
functional initiatives
• Maintain and develop payroll and leadership knowledge and skill sets,
staying current on changing policies and rules in order to remain the subject
matter expert for our clients
• Other tasks and special projects as directed
JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll, or subject matter
equivalent
• 1-3 years managing direct reports
• Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Business Administration, Finance or related
discipline.
• Experience working with business intelligence applications (Qlik,
Tableau, Salesforce, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong knowledge in Payroll processing
• Ability to motivate and coach direct reports
• Proficient PC skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Visio, and SharePoint).
• Strong initiative and ability to manage and prioritize multiple
assignments/projects to deliver commitments on time.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (excellent quality
of deliverables).
• Ability to grasp new concepts, problem solve, and derive root causes
through analytics.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in the workplace to meet
critical deadlines.

The salary range for this position in $95,000 to $110,000 and will be
commensurate with experience related to the position.
