**State Sales Manager **

Anixter Australia Pty Ltd

We’re looking for a driven and commercially astute sales leader to inspire and grow a high-performing sales team within a dynamic and evolving technology business.

Leading the Anixter NSW business, you’ll have real ownership - shaping strategy, and driving revenue growth. You’ll be responsible for delivering results, with full accountability for sales performance and team success. You will also act as the face of Wesco Anixter in NSW, representing the brand in market and building strong, trust-based relationships with key customers and partners.

If you’re someone who thrives on building teams, influencing strategy, and making a tangible commercial impact, this role offers strong visibility and career progression.

You will play a pivotal role in:

  • Defining and executing the NSW growth strategy
  • Building and leading a high-performing, engaged sales team
  • Strengthening key customer and supplier partnerships
  • Driving profitable growth across core and emerging product segments

What You’ll Be Doing

Drive State Strategy & Commercial Growth

  • Develop and execute a clear, forward-looking sales strategy aligned to national objectives
  • Own and deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets across NSW
  • Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities, verticals, and channels
  • Analyse market dynamics, competitor positioning, and customer trends to inform strategy
  • Lead accurate forecasting and provide data-driven insights to senior leadership

Lead, Inspire & Elevate the Team

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team across NSW
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Coach and mentor team members to maximise performance and career development
  • Set clear expectations, KPIs, and performance frameworks
  • Lead from the front with a hands-on, commercially driven approach

Strengthen Key Relationships

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Partner closely with strategic suppliers to drive joint growth initiatives and market engagement
  • Position the business as a trusted solutions partner, not just a distributor
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of customer experience and service delivery

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Marketing to drive targeted campaigns and go-to-market strategies
  • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to optimise customer outcomes and delivery performance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on pricing strategy, deal structuring, and major bids
  • Act as a key voice in the business, influencing broader commercial decisions

Optimise Performance & Profitability

  • Manage and improve product mix, pricing strategy, and gross margins
  • Drive disciplined execution of the sales pipeline and conversion process
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and commercial outcomes
  • Ensure strong governance across forecasting, reporting, and sales processes

What We’re Looking For

You are a commercially astute and people-focused sales leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a track record of delivering results through both team leadership and personal influence.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a sales leadership or state/regional management role
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing sales role, with a strong track record of building and managing client relationships
  • Strong background in electrical, communications, electronic security, or related technology field is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and leading high-performing teams
  • Commercially savvy, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into action
  • Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior decision-makers
  • Highly organised with strong planning, forecasting, and execution capability
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, or related disciplines (highly regarded)

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a key state within a globally recognised business
  • Make a visible and measurable commercial impact
  • Work within a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Partner with leading global suppliers and technologies
  • Strong opportunity for career progression and leadership growth
  • Competitive salary package with performance-based incentives
