Quality Inspector
at North Alabama Pipe Corporation
ASC Engineered Solutions is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the quality department by executing, maintaining, and continuously improving facility‑wide quality systems and inspection processes. This role is responsible for conducting product inspections to ensure final products meet customer specifications and comply with applicable ISO standards. The Quality Inspector works closely with machine operators to reinforce proper understanding and adherence to ISO requirements. This position ensures compliance with internal procedures, customer standards, and relevant quality regulations, while promoting clear, effective communication of quality expectations across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections according to customer specifications, including manual testing of products.
- Record inspection data, measurements, and observations accurately.
- Inspect incoming materials and finished products for compliance with quality standards.
- Read and understand sketches, packing instructions, paint dot/mark requirements, and other visual cues.
- Adhere to all ISO standards and quality procedures.
- Learn and apply defect codes and identify parts using part‑identification tickets.
- Classify and communicate nonconformances.
- Determine bond‑testing requirements and perform necessary testing.
- Manage post cure processes, while maintaining proper lot control and quality requirements.
- Create serialized and non‑serialized labels according to specifications.
- Perform accurate inventory transactions in the system.
- Manage proper disposition of partial containers.
- Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 1–3 years of quality inspection experience (manufacturing; rubber/plastics preferred).
- Ability to read/interpret specifications and quality requirements.
- Skilled with micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and gauges.
- Strong basic math and measurement skills.
- High attention to detail.
- ERP system experience and basic computer skills.
- Strong decision‑making, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Collaborative, reliable work ethic; able to take direction.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Flexibility to handle additional tasks.
