Position Purpose Receive and log problem reports into the Incident Database. The operator assesses the severity of the reported problem and assists the caller when possible. If problem resolution requires a technician or programmer/analyst, a message is forward to the proper personnel. The Help Desk staff also maintains the Tape Backup system by preparing the tapes for the daily backups, and logging the tapes after the backups are completed.
