Lead Actuary

at Corgi Insurance

We are looking for an FCAS who owns admitted P&C rate, rule, and form filings from initial regulatory assessment through final Department of Insurance (DOI) disposition and implementation.

  • Location: Remote, or in person at our London (UK) office. Visa sponsorship is available.
  • Equity: As an early hire you will hold a meaningful stake in the company.
  • You will be working with:
    • Our founding actuary (FCAS)
    • Our head of portfolio risk (FIA)
    • Two quantitative pricing associates
    • Our forward deployed engineers
  • You will have the opportunity to:
    • Build rating plans and filing strategy
    • Develop reviewer relationships across a growing map of states
    • Qualify into new lines of business with the reviewed experience and education to match
    • Take a realistic path toward appointed actuary and chief actuary as the company grows
    • Build the actuarial function you will eventually lead

Required:

  • You are a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
  • You passed Exam 6 (United States)
  • You have at least three years of actuarial work experience

Good to have:

  • You've authored and submitted your own SERFF filings
  • You understand how DOI actuarial reviewers in our key states actually evaluate filings
  • Your DOI work spans both personal lines and bureau-referenced commercial lines
  • You have supported predictive-model-based filings through actuarial objections
  • You bring three or more reviewed years of P&C reserving work
  • You learn quickly, take ownership from start to finish, keep your technical skills sharp
