We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with strong experience in Linux networking and backend development (Go as primary, PHP for API layer) to help shape the next iteration of our SASE platform.
You will work on core gateway components, networking features, and backend services, improving performance and reliability of systems operating at scale.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working close to the Linux networking stack, understand advanced networking concepts, and are comfortable solving complex, high-impact production problems.
What You Will Do:
- Design and develop backend services and APIs for SASE control plane and gateway orchestration
- Build and maintain services using Go (primary) and PHP (API layer)
- Implement and enhance Linux networking features, including:
- Namespaces, veth, routing
- netfilter / iptables / nftables
- DNS, IPsec, WireGuard, VPN and tunneling orchestration
- Firewalling and high-throughput data paths
- Contribute to platform modernization:
- Migration to lightweight Linux OS images
- Containerization and workload optimization (EKS/ECS)
- Progress toward multi-cloud and vendor-agnostic architecture
- Improve performance, scalability, observability, and reliability
- Troubleshoot complex production issues (networking, VPN, distributed systems, performance)
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, QA, and Product teams
- Participate in architecture and design discussions
- Maintain high engineering standards (code quality, testing, documentation)
- Mentor junior engineers
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong professional experience with Go (Golang)
- Working knowledge of PHP (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and platform services
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
Linux & Networking:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and internals
- Advanced Linux networking expertise, including:
- Namespaces, veth, routing
- netfilter / iptables / nftables
- TCP/IP, DNS, IPsec, WireGuard
- Ability to debug packet flow and system-level networking issues
- Experience working with networking systems (gateways, firewalls, VPN endpoints)
Cloud & Tooling:
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
Nice to Have:
- Experience in SASE, networking, or security domains
- Background as a Linux system administrator
- Knowledge of SDN, NFV, or virtual networking functions
- Exposure to security technologies (NGFW, IDS/IPS, DNS filtering)
