Procurement Subcontract Specialist

Purchase sophisticated, high-dollar and complex products requiring close administration to resolve technical problems and overcome long lead time or short supply.
Working Procedure:
Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships -- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Communicating with Persons Outside Organization -- Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

Perform the duties of a Senior Buyer, in addition to:
- Participate in vendor surveys and vendor performance analysis
- Perform cost analysis on vendor cost breakdown when required to justify pricing. Determine and recommend cost reduction methods through negotiations with supplier and/or substitution of material. Exhibit high cost reduction skills and output
- Works closely with Contracts and pricing during customer negotiations regarding material price justifications
- Exhibit extensive experience and knowledge with a wide range of commodities and can support lower classified personnel in procurement of these items. Assign commodities for lower classified personnel
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business, or other related field.
Experience Requirement: A minimum of twelve years' experience in Purchasing. Knowledgeable and capable of negotiations and elements of supplier proposals.
In compliance with state and local laws, the salary range for this role is $93,170 - $128,000. The range provided is a general guideline and good faith estimate representative of all experience levels but is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. TCOM considers several factors when extending an offer including, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate's experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
