Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift
at Advanced Plastiform
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily operations by repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, and building systems within our manufacturing facility. This full-time position is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, mechanical systems, and facility equipment using hand, power, and precision tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance and complete maintenance work orders.
- Read and interpret diagrams, manuals, and specifications to identify and correct issues.
- Inspect and test equipment for performance; dismantle and replace defective parts as needed.
- Operate shop tools (e.g., drill press, grinder) to fabricate or modify repair parts.
- Maintain facility structure and support general building repairs.
- Monitor work performed by outside contractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Initiate purchase orders for replacement parts and supplies.
- Follow all housekeeping, safety, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions and schematics.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and equipment repair strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. (frequently up to 100 lbs.)
- Requires close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting with moderate noise levels and heat exposure.
- Required PPE includes safety glasses and hearing protection; additional PPE may be needed for specific tasks.
