MACHINIST

Perform manual machine tasks as needed to support our rotor shop and field service division

KEY FUNCTIONS:

* Machine parts to within drawing specifications utilizing manual machines
* Measure and record existing parts for reverse engineering purposes
* Manufacture parts utilizing a sample part as reference

WORK QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Ability to set up and safely operate small engine lathes, milling machines, large vertical lathes, boring mills and misc. other common machine shop equipment.
• Ability to accurately utilize micrometers (ID and OD), calipers etc. for precision measuring of parts.
• Ability to read a blueprint
• Familiar with overhead crane operation
• Familiar with forklift operation.
• Experience in utilizing hand and bench grinders
• Experience in using band saws

** Preferred:**

• Welding experience is a plus

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating machine shop equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the role.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time or until the end of the assigned shift.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. safely and properly, as needed throughout the assigned shift with or without assistance.
• Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, balance, and push/pull.
