IT Labs Technical Engineer
Welcome to our team
Our Animal Health site in Boxmeer is part of a global network focused on the
development, production, and distribution of animal health products, operating
under strict quality and regulatory standards (GxP).
Within Global Animal Health Manufacturing IT (AHIT), we deliver IT, laboratory, and automation solutions to our manufacturing sites in Boxmeer and De Bilt. Our scope includes a wide range of laboratory technologies such as LIMS, ELN, lab instruments, and supporting IT applications, all aimed at creating a seamless flow of data and efficient business operations.
You will work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team alongside a Business Analyst, Project Lead, Subject Matter Experts, and Quality Assurance Officers. Together, you will drive the development and implementation of innovative lab and IT solutions.
About the role
As an IT Labs Technical Engineer, you are responsible for the technical
implementation and optimization of laboratory systems. You act as the
technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) within project teams and play a key role
in designing, implementing, qualifying, and maintaining lab IT solutions.
You contribute directly to improving data flows and operational efficiency within laboratory environments. In addition, you are actively involved in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure system stability and minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop laboratory solutions and manage technical deployment in collaboration with external suppliers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Ensure solutions are aligned with AHIT platforms and overall strategy
- Drive standardization and consistent ways of working across laboratory environments
- Apply System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and IT best practices to deliver integration solutions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and protocols
- Execute management activities and maintain CMDB registrations
- Investigate incidents and problems, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Evaluate and optimize laboratory systems to ensure quality, stability, and future readiness
- Provide on-floor support for IT-related lab activities
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate status updates in project management tools
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a related field
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE level)
- Understanding of ITIL principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, food, or chemical industry)
- Knowledge of GxP environments and validation requirements
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to understand complex automated systems
- Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team attitude
- Fluency in English and preferably Dutch
- Currently residing near Boxmeer (relocation support is not provided)
