JOB SUMMARY:
The Aviation Practice Leader will be responsible for managing and developing the Chubb aviation operation in Canada. Achieving success in this position involves driving results for the Aviation industry practice for the Canadian region, including profit, revenue growth, new business, pre-bind metrics, rate, retention, and compliance for Canada.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing and monitoring new and renewal business performance and
production.
• Being a responsive and innovative referral resource utilizing delegated
level underwriting authority.
• Generating, collecting and articulating ideas, shaping and adjusting
underwriting strategies and new product development.
• Exercising deep expertise for the Aviation industry practice and product
lines resulting in achievement of business goals.
• Building technical knowledge of field staff in assigned regions.
• Making recommendations on underwriting authority of field staff as well
as developing future specialists.
• Relationship building with key brokers and customers within Aviation in
Canada.
• Working in a matrix environment with Aviation leaders in the UK.
• Through effective leadership and coaching, enhancing field capabilities
and reputation in the industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 8-10 years of multiline underwriting experience and demonstrated in-depth
expertise in handling aviation accounts.
• Advanced knowledge of aviation underwriting and insurance industry
theories and practices.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency for competencies including a track
record of results achievement, customer development, collaboration, teamwork,
problem solving, and communication and marketing/negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills and the ability
to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business
partners.
• Position requires travel throughout Canada as necessary.
