Primary Objectives
- Lead the EMEA FP&A EHQ office and Demand Planning & Inventory Management activities.
- Lead the EMEA SH forecasting, LBE (Latest Best Estimate) process and monthly financial closing activities.
- Support the effective execution of financial business plans, by monitoring the financial progress / performance / efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
- Establish and maintain local procedures and controls that guarantee integrity of assets and compliance with US and local GAAP and Abbott Policies and Procedures.
Top responsibilities
- Drive forecasting and LBE activities for EMEA SH P&L. Support development and preparation of solid financial business plans and analysis through establishing forecasting and LBE process and tools.
- Organize monthly financial close activities and lead monthly/quarterly reporting for EMEA according to required deadlines. Track, analyze and report variances across the regions and consolidate reporting. Collaborate with regional controllers to obtain meaningful commentary and insights on corrective actions.
- Lead the consolidation and modeling of the annual OEM. Track EMEA capital expenditure and present projects at SH Capital Committee as required.
- Lead the strategic development and execution of Gross Margin Initiatives across all regions, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and support long-term financial growth.
- Oversee cash flow planning, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and driving cash flow optimization across the organization.
- Own EMEA FP&A reporting suite (MS Excel, Cognos, HFM, SAP, Hyperion, Dodeca), foster continuous improvement culture and examine relevance. Lead development of new reporting needs, lead implementation of system enhancements; drive local adoption of new reporting and system changes.
- Monitor integrity of financials (e.g. regulatory/ compliance and establishing and maintaining internal control environment).
- Lead all EMEA Demand planning activities including (i) the development of monthly demand plans in accordance with commercial and marketing strategies, (ii) x-functional management of product phase-in/phase-outs and (iii) development of field inventory management strategy.
- Drive execution of approved demand plans, and foster accountability with commercial stakeholders. Foster alignment between LBE, financial forecasting and demand plan.
- Facilitate the Integrated Business Planning process (IBP), ensure integration of product strategies and commercial demand into an Approved Demand Statement (ADS).
- Support the EMEA ELT with detailed performance assessments, trend analyses, recommended success metrics and proposals for improvements. Act as business partner to Marketing and other EHQ-functions.
- Provide leadership and build, maintain and develop best-in-class FP&A and Demand Planning organization.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects such e.g. but not limited to: EMEA-wide investment proposals, risk/opportunity modeling, Gross Margin Initiatives. Act as stand-in for Finance Director when needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’ degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant FP&A, accounting and Demand Planning experience. Minimum 3 years experience leading teams, in a multinational environment
- Proven track-record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Highly analytical, result-oriented with proven track record of finance process management. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced system skills (Microsoft Office, Familiarity with Essbase, Dodeca, SAP, and HFM preferred).
- Excellent business partnering and collaboration. Strong problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English.
