Provides face-to-face customer service located at an off-site location. Responsible for the troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning of various light and heavy construction equipment.
Models the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Performs complex repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision.
Performs complex troubleshooting, diagnoses of equipment malfunctions, and
failure analysis. Removes and install parts, disassembles and assembles
components to CAT specifications.
Tests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operation of all repairs and
adjustments.
Prepares and completes all job related documents, writes service reports,
orders parts, and maintains clear customer records; in addition, accesses
databases required to complete job.
Acts as a team leader and mentors/coaches.
Participates in the quotation of work orders.
Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and
certificates. Maintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections
and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation.
Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and
working order. Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed.
Completes assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate time and re-work standards.
Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs.
Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in
a timely and proficient manner.
Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including
personal appearance.
May be relied upon to act as a mentor to lower level Technicians.
Apply advanced knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs,
uses, repair, and maintenance.
Apply advanced knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, undercarriage,
and electrical. Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software,
related hardware, and knowledge of machine electronic systems.
Responsible for advanced diagnostic and trouble-shooting, operating and
controlling equipment or systems.
Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Operate a crane and forklift.
Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in
mechanical repair. Make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one
or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Requirements
- 3 years of shop experience with heavy equipment and 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and rebuilding diesel and natural gas engines required.
- LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver's license or ability to obtain upon hire; valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record or ability to obtain upon hire; and certifications/licenses required to operate crane and forklift or ability to obtain upon hire.
- TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 25% domestic travel required. Various worksites.
