*About the role*
As an Inventory Control & Material Flow Lead in our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) manufacturing facility, you will own inventory accuracy, material movement, and traceability across the facility. You will be the system owner responsible for ensuring accurate and controlled material flow across all stages of the internal manufacturing lifestyle. This role is ideal for a high- initiative, system-minded operator who identifies problems, builds structure, and takes responsibility for outcomes.
*What you'll do*
- Receive incoming materials, assemblies, etc. Verify counts, damage, and documentation (PO, packing list, MTRs/CMTRs, CoCs)
- Record heat/lot/serial numbers and link certifications in the ERP/MES to maintain end-to-end traceability.
- Stage items for Quality receiving inspection and route nonconforming material to MRB/quarantine per procedure.
- Perform put‑away, bin transfers, and replenishment using RF scanners and ERP (e.g., SAP/Oracle/Epicor/NetSuite).
- Execute daily cycle counts; investigate variances to root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain point of use Kanban/supermarkets; support 5S, visual management, and standard work.
- Pick and kit work orders to BOM; verify revisions and shelf life/expiration where applicable.
- Shipping: Pack to engineering/quality requirements (blocking, bracing, corrosion protection); generate labels, BOLs, and export/commercial docs as applicable.
- Load/unload trucks using forklifts/overhead cranes; coordinate carriers for LTL/FTL/expedites.
*Qualifications*
*Required*
- 5-10 years of experience in inventory control, material control, or manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on ERP/WMS experience (e.g. ION, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor) including inventory transactions and reconciliation.
- Ability to operate or obtain certification for forklifts
- Strong attention to detail with documentation, labeling, and serial/heat tracking.
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) and ability to read BOMs, POs, and packing lists.
*Preferred*
- Experience in regulated, high‑traceability industries (nuclear, aerospace, medical device, oil & gas).
- Familiarity with NQA-1 quality culture, MRB/quarantine processes, and receiving inspection workflows.
- Knowledge of hazmat/regulated shipping (DOT/IATA/IMDG) and export control basics (e.g., EAR/ITAR awareness).
- Lean/5S experience; root cause and corrective action participation.
- OSHA forklift certification; basic rigging and load securement skills.
*Physical*
- Stand/walk 8–10 hours; lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs; bend/reach frequently; operate material handling equipment; work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variation; ability to work overtime/weekends to support manufacturing timelines
