Your role at a glance
We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist to lead and execute the Strategic Procurement for construction services supporting our APAC data centre development programme.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Procurement for data centre construction projects in general, and with substantial exposure but not limited to major capital equipment procurement (Genset, Chiller, CRAH, E-Module, etc).
What we are looking for
KEY responsibilities
- Lead and execute end-to-end Procurement activities for data centre
construction projects, including supplier selection, RFP/RFQ processes,
contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
- Lead and execute Procurement strategies that align with project timelines,
budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Design engineering,
Construction Execution, Cost and Legal, to ensure procurement requirements are
clearly defined and met.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, cost
competitiveness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify new suppliers and
cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory
requirements.
KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Good understanding and experience in negotiating construction contracts
such as FIDIC, JCT, NEC, contracting strategies, and their interrelationship.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously and drive data driven results in a fast-paced
environment.
- Organized, analytical, and structured with excellent communication,
critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of construction services procurement best practices.
- Works well in a team environment and independently, gives and receives
clear expectations well.
- Proven experience in strategic Procurement & supplier relationship
management.
- Understanding of basic finance and accounting business structure.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Quantity
Surveying.
- MCIPS would be desirable.
- Other languages such as Mandarin, Malay or Thai would be an advantage.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, professional expertise
acquired, or relevant work and ideally within data centre construction or
large-scale infrastructure projects
- Job-related experience on supply chain, sourcing and procurement must be
relevant for position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional move about inside and outside of data center / facility
- Hot desking and flexible work place.
- Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
- Occasional to perform work beyond Singapore business hours and time zones.
Work conditions & other requirements
- Occasional work onsite at a data center location.
- Travel required 10%-15% of time.
- Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.
