Insurance Verification Coordinator - Azalea Orthopedics
at Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
As part of the Azalea Insurance Verification team, you will ensure that new patients and established are verified accurately and in a timely manner for upcoming appointments, all while delivering excellent customer service. Other duties and qualities needed.
Verifying patient insurance details:
Contacting insurance companies to confirm patient eligibility, coverage levels, co-pays, deductibles, and benefit limitations for scheduled procedures.
- Benefit verification updates:
Regularly checking for changes in patient insurance plans and updating records accordingly.
Skills and qualifications for an insurance verification specialist:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with insurance companies and patients
- Maintain a professional relationship with physician teams
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and insurance verification
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Demonstrates attention to detail
• Demonstrates professionalism in appearance/dress code
Qualifications
Preferences and Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in Healthcare preferred but not necessary
- 1 year of insurance verification experience preferred
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills required
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
