GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Regional Director, this position performs advanced (senior-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of Garner State Park. Responsible for the preservation, protection, administration, operation and maintenance of Garner State Park. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cultural and natural resource stewardship; financial management, including budget planning, preparation, and monitoring; revenue management and human resources management; law enforcement and public safety programs; maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, and equipment; leased concession management; customer service, public relations, marketing, and promotion; interpretation and education; coordinating special events; and engaging in community outreach, volunteer development, and coordination of partnerships. Identifies, develops, and administers program budgets. Responsible for other assigned projects required by the Region and Austin Headquarters. Performs additional duties as assigned. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Note: Salary range is limited to a commissioned officer in the park management track prior to 9/1/2020, with no break in service. State Park Law Enforcement career ladder eligibility requirements must be met to advance from the base rate-of-pay.
