Maintenance Team Member

at Butlin's

We’re looking for a hands-on and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities team.

In this role, you’ll support the Facilities leadership team across all aspects of resort maintenance, helping to keep our spaces safe, functional, and welcoming for guests and team members alike. You’ll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the estate, working to current legislative standards.

From replacing door handles and light bulbs to glazing windows, fitting shower doors, applying silicone, and plaster boarding walls, your work will be varied and hands-on. You’ll also help evaluate repairs, manage inventory, and identify opportunities for improvement. At times, you’ll collaborate with internal colleagues and external service providers to get the job done efficiently and professionally.

All tools and equipment required for the role are provided.

This is a five-day role across a seven-day rota, with typical hours of 9:00am to 4:30pm. You’ll also be scheduled for one weekend and one late evening shift (2:30pm to 10:00pm) every seven weeks.

General Duties & Key Accountabilities

We’re looking for someone who brings either solid experience in a maintenance environment or has recently completed a relevant college course and is ready to apply their skills in a real-world setting.

You’ll need to be confident in prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and working within health and safety regulations. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential, especially when it comes to record keeping.

You’ll take pride in your work, maintain a positive and professional attitude, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.

Experience & Qualification Requirements

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands.
