Project

Kwinana Energy Recovery is Australia’s first waste-to-energy facility, transforming waste into renewable energy while supporting the circular economy. Diverting up to 460,000 tonnes of waste annually from landfill, the facility will generate 38 megawatts of baseload power—enough for over 50,000 households—while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to removing 85,000 cars from Perth’s roads.

Position

To implement and monitor systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24-hour shift system. As part of a team, carry out plant duties to support the process performance within health, safety and environmental compliance. The role involves control of materials and traffic throughout the facility.

Build and maintain relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site. You will be required to be totally flexible and carry out other duties identified from time to time ensuring site objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine tasks and testing of plant equipment.
  • Update the shift log including plant and process changes, diligent shift handover to ensure effective communication to the following shift.
  • Operate the weighbridge and offloading systems within contractual requirements.
  • Lead the FRO team in delivering high standards of support for the wider site teams.
  • Ensure that all defect reporting within CMMS is effective and followed through to completion promptly and that PPM's are completed as require
  • Assist the Shift Team Leader to operate the facility through timely operation of materials management systems and processes.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant skills and experience to be successful in the role
  • 3+ years industrial work experience
  • 2+ years experience in heavy machinery and moving plant
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience in working closely with large and diverse O&M teams
  • Full driving license
