**Summary **

Advanced Technology Systems Company in Gilbert, AZ is looking for a Quality Inspector II to join our team. The Inspector will report to and work directly with the Quality Manager. They will support the daily incoming, In Process and Final Inspection tasks that occur in inventory, shipping and receiving, and production.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Utilize previous experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) based on completed engineering drawings.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, assembly, and electrical drawings.
  • Perform Incoming, In-process and Final Quality Inspections of small, medium scale electronic assemblies as well as large scale mechanically and electronic assembled units.
  • Must be able to create Quality Inspection Checklists (Incoming, In-Process and Final) and maintain the documentation of the completed quality inspections.
  • Experience in documenting non conformances to closure and knowledge of how to contain non conforming items from production.
  • Ability to review Bill of Materials documentation to determine and verify all materials are present in sub/ and top level assemblies.
  • Able to utilize configuration management tracking systems to store all inspection data checklists and other quality documentation
  • Able to train Quality Inspector I on ATSC inspection processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with the creation IUID markings and verification to its requirements
  • Have the ability to read purchase orders to compare part numbers and quantities requested by our customers.
  • Inspect all assembled products before they are shipped to ensure they meet the measurements and customer requirements based on blueprints, part manuals, acceptance testing, company or military standard and other specifications.
  • Must be able to review and acknowledge engineering changes drawings and blueprints in order to update required quality documentation to the new requirements.
  • Must be able to review manufacturing documentation and confirm compliance and completeness of the manufacturing documentation.
  • Must be able to contact suppliers and review packing slips of kitted items and create inspection checklists from them
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify measurements listed in blueprints and customer specifications are met. Check products for correct measurements, alignments, and functional operation.
  • Perform visual validation of all manufactured product by comparing the product description and package details from original drawings and standards. Ensure there are no defects, missed items, or incorrect products inspected.
  • Assist with the NCMR (Non-Conforming Materials Report) documentation and RTV (Return to Vendor) process. Includes item documentation, tracking, adjusting/destroying and recommendations to escalate issues when observed to be a systemic problem.
  • Assist with initiating Supplier Corrective Actions and internal Corrective Actions when systemic issues are observed
  • Be able to coordinate DCMA Inspections and ensure all components are accounted for with serial numbers verified beforehand
  • Able to follow the quality policies and established standard requirements of parts, as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Build successful relationships with all departments while supporting their daily needs/requests.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service (internal and external)
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Other duties, as assigned

** **Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of hands-on work experience in Quality part Inspections and assembly inspections
  • Experience working with GD&T
  • Welding Inspection experience is a big plus
  • May include local travel to initiate Quality Source inspections
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Access and Excel
  • Understanding of Inventory numbering and product identification processes is a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and organizational skills
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to change quickly
  • Experience working in Aerospace and Construction industries is a plus. Aerospace experience will be valued over construction experience

** ****Physical Demands & Work Environment **

  • Work will be performed in both a warehouse and office environment with 80% of the work being performed in the warehouse floor
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see. Must be able to stand/bend/kneel for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the course of the workday
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
