Commercialization Program Manager

at ABS Global

Role Overview

We are preparing for the first commercial launch of the gene edited PRRS- Resistant Pig (PRP), a breakthrough in animal health that improves animal welfare, reduces antibiotic use, strengthens producer resilience, and meaningfully lowers the environmental footprint of pork production. With global demand growing and sustainability pressures intensifying, PRP represents one of the most important biotechnology innovations in modern livestock production.

To support this fast-moving program, PIC is accelerating work across regulatory, commercial, supply chain, and customer readiness. We are looking for a Commercialization Program Manager to help drive cross-functional execution, support strategic decision-making, and keep high-priority commercialization workstreams moving at pace.

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, organized, collaborative, and energized by the opportunity to help bring first-in-class biotechnology to market. Experience in agriculture or animal genetics is not required — but curiosity about life-science innovation, strong project management capability, and the ability to partner across functions to deliver results are essential. You will learn quickly, manage multiple complex initiatives, and play a direct role in shaping a transformational launch with meaningful benefits for pigs, producers, consumers, and the planet.

Role Overview

In this hands on role you will report to the Director of New Product Commercialization and coordinate critical elements of the global PRP commercialization program.

You will conduct market and regulatory research, identifying and engaging external experts, support the organization of cross-functional projects, preparing executive-ready materials, and ensure follow-through across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Your role will be essential in ensuring PIC can move at the speed required to launch PRP globally. The work is meaningful, cross-functional, and highly visible, impacting the introduction of one of the most important genetic innovations in swine production.

You will work at the intersection of science, strategy, operations, regulation, and customer engagement—gaining a uniquely broad perspective and making a direct contribution to the successful commercialization of transformational technology.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $122,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will

  • Drive the day-to-day execution across PRP commercialization workstreams, ensuring deliverables remain on track.
  • Support the maintenance of clear visibility across regulatory, supply, pricing, research, and commercialization workflows by organizing inputs and ensuring updates flow to the right teams.
  • Coordinate the work with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, Sustainability, Product Development, Technical Services) required for program success.
  • Support the preparation for PIC’s first PRP commercial sales by ensuring operational readiness activities are progressing as planned.
  • Conduct targeted research to identify experts, consultants, and specialized partners who can support key PRP commercialization needs.
  • Coordinate vetting, scoping, contracting, and onboarding of external resources.
  • Develop concise summaries, landscape analyses, and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate follow-ups across teams to ensure decisions translate into clear actions and completed deliverables.
  • Maintain alignment between commercial, regulatory, supply, sustainability, and R&D perspectives.
  • Support preparation and documentation for major meetings (internal and external).
  • Prepare slide decks, briefing papers, decision memos, and summaries for senior leadership and global partners.
  • Translate complex technical or regulatory information into clear, organized, business-relevant outputs.
  • Support the development of commercialization frameworks and go-to-market readiness materials.
  • Conduct targeted research, as needed, to inform the team on regulatory, market, or industry developments relevant to gene-edited livestock and related technologies.
  • Support updates to PRP pricing, market models, supply planning assumptions, and customer engagement frameworks.
  • Assist with due diligence and analysis for expansion into new geographies beyond the U.S. and early PRP markets in South America.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • Masters Degree
  • 3 years of experience in strategic planning, product management, new product launch and/or commercialization in regulated industries.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, exhibiting high levels of organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; strong PowerPoint and overall executive-communication capability.
  • Strong analytical and research skills; able to synthesize information quickly and accurately.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, learning new scientific/technical concepts, and operating with urgency.
  • Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships across functions and with external partners.
  • Strong abilities for action, follow-through, and problem-solving.
  • Intellectual curiosity and motivation to work on breakthrough innovations in agriculture and biotechnology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Previous work experience in animal health, animal biotechnology, or other agricultural industries.
