Job Summary/Description:

WEAU-TV is seeking an IT Administrator to support and maintain the station's information technology environment across the office, newsroom, and broadcast operations. This role is responsible for day-to-day IT support, network/system administration, security best practices, vendor coordination, and proactive monitoring to ensure high availability for mission-critical systems.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide Tier 1-2 technical support for station staff (Windows/macOS desktops/laptops, printers, conference room A/V, mobile devices).
• Administer and monitor network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi Fi) and troubleshoot connectivity/performance issues.
• Support server and endpoint environments (on-prem and cloud as applicable), including:
• User provisioning and access management (e.g., Microsoft 365/Entra ID/Active Directory as applicable)
• Patch management and endpoint security
• Backup validation and basic disaster recovery procedures
• Maintain security hygiene: MFA, least privilege, vulnerability remediation coordination, phishing awareness reinforcement, and incident escalation.
• Support broadcast-adjacent and newsroom systems in coordination with Engineering/Operations (e.g., newsroom computers, shared storage access, basic workflow troubleshooting).
• Manage IT inventory, asset lifecycle, and documentation (network diagrams, standard builds, credentials handling per policy).
• Coordinate with Gray Media corporate IT/Technology teams and approved vendors for escalations, upgrades, and projects.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding, workstation builds, and standard software deployments.
• Participate in periodic after-hours maintenance windows and respond to critical outages as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT support and/or systems/network administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across:
• Windows (desktop/server concepts) and common business applications
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi Fi
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange/Teams/SharePoint fundamentals) and identity/access concepts.
• Familiarity with endpoint security tools, patching practices, and basic backup/restore validation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users and document solutions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift/move standard IT equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with broadcast or media environments (newsroom/broadcast workflows, high-availability operations).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud administration, and scripting (PowerShell).
• Networking/security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus.
