Position Overview

The Learning & Development Designer/Developer is responsible for the end-to- end design and development of learning products and solutions within Global Learning & Development’s Regional Capability Center. Reporting to the Production Team Leader, this role combines instructional design and hands-on development responsibilities, enabling flexible, high quality, and efficient learning production at scale. The Designer/Developer partners with project managers, localization leads, subject matter experts, and GLD stakeholders to deliver learner-centric, outcomes focused learning experiences aligned to GLD standards.

The Learning & Development Designer/Developer is responsible for:

Learning Design & Solution Development

  • Design and develop learning solutions across modalities (e.g., digital learning, virtual, blended, performance support) based on defined learning objectives, success criteria, and GLD standards.

  • Translate business requirements, learning blueprints, and high-level designs into detailed instructional designs and completed learning assets.

  • Apply adult learning principles, learning science, and GLD’s learning model to create effective, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences.

Hands‑On Content Development

  • Build learning assets using approved authoring tools, templates, and platforms, ensuring consistency, reusability, and accessibility.

  • Develop assessments, knowledge checks, and measurement approaches aligned to learning objectives.

  • Incorporate feedback from reviews and quality checks to continuously improve deliverables.

Collaboration & Delivery Execution

  • Partner closely with Project Managers to support accurate scoping, timelines, and delivery commitments.

  • Collaborate with SMEs, localization leads, and reviewers to ensure content accuracy, clarity, and readiness for localization or deployment.

  • Support iterative development approaches, including Agile or rapid development models, to meet delivery timelines.

Quality, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all learning products meet GLD quality standards, brand guidelines, accessibility requirements, and compliance expectations.

  • Leverage standardized processes, tools, and templates to drive efficiency and consistency.

  • Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, reuse content, and reduce cycle time.

Ideally you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, Business, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in learning design and/or learning development, with demonstrated ability to perform both disciplines.

  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning experience design.

  • Proven experience developing learning content using industry‑standard authoring tools and learning platforms.

  • Ability to work effectively in high volume, production oriented environments with shifting priorities.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross functional and global teams.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Experience supporting localization, accessibility, and global deployment preferred.
