Job Summary/Description:
WFSB is seeking a Social & Streaming Producer who will help WFSB break news, own the social conversation, and create content people actually want to watch. From turning breaking news into scroll-stopping vertical videos to producing YouTube livestreams and streaming shows, this role is built for someone who can move fast, think creatively, and deliver across platforms.
You'll be part digital content producer, part social video creator, and part streaming show producer. If you're passionate about YouTube, love breaking news, and want to push local journalism beyond the traditional newscast, we want to hear from you.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
What You 'll Do:
• Break news everywhere. Write and publish web stories, breaking news updates,
push alerts, and social posts. Move fast and be first.
• Own the video. Help produce and post multiple vertical videos daily, more
when breaking news demands it. Edit content built for TikTok, Instagram and
beyond.
• Think social first. Spot the moments, interviews and stories people need to
see now, not hours later.
• Make YouTube a destination. Produce livestreams, create compelling
thumbnails and headlines, and find new ways to grow views, watch time and
revenue.
• Make shows happen. Book guests, develop topics, build rundowns, and produce
live and recorded streaming shows from start to finish.
• Create what's next. Pitch original social franchises, streaming series and
documentary-style projects that go beyond the daily newscast.
• Own the details. Cut video for the web, create graphics and carousels, track
performance, and keep content moving across platforms.
• Be a newsroom player. Work with reporters, anchors, producers and managers
to turn good journalism into great digital storytelling.
Qualifications/Requirements:
What You Bring:
• Strong vertical video editing and news judgment.
• Adobe Premiere skills and the ability to edit quickly under deadline.
• A working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and digital publishing.
• The ability to juggle breaking news, video production and show logistics
without losing sight of the story.
• Creativity, initiative and a genuine obsession with what makes people click,
watch and share.
• A passion for reinventing how local news reaches its audience.
The bottom line: We 're not looking for someone who just posts the news. We want someone who helps make the news impossible to miss -- on social, on YouTube, on WFSB+ and everywhere our audience is watching.
