Hiring Salary - $19.75 hourly
DEFINITION
Provide leadership and supervision of the overall operation of the Brighton
Recreation Center in the absence of full-time Recreation Division Staff.
Assist the public with questions and respond to emergency situations. Enforce
all rules and regulations at the Recreation Center. This position must work
well in group setting/peers and with the public, while providing excellent,
respectful customer service and human relations skills, which support the City
of Brighton's mission and values.
Not a benefitted position. Receives Rec Center Family Pass
Sick Leave - 1 hr of Sick Leave per 30 hrs worked
Hours Per Week:10-30

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED
This position receives direct supervision from the Recreation Facilities
Coordinator. The Building Monitor does not supervise others.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Provide outstanding customer service to all patrons that enter the Brighton
Recreation Center.
Ensures the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
As needed, contacts appropriate staff to address pressing maintenance issues
during non-business hours.
Ensures all possible safety measures are observed.
Responds to emergency situations as required.
Facilitates proper opening and closing procedures.
Maintains accurate documentation including all accident and incident reports
and contacts the appropriate supervisor.
Provides positive public relations through interactions with the facility
patrons.
Provides direction and supervision for Community Service workers in the
absence of the facility custodian.
Provides program set up and tear down as scheduled.
Performs basic maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming as
needed when custodial staff is absent.
Ensure that all areas are fully stocked with appropriate supplies, such as
cleaning supplies and towels in workout areas, paper supplies in locker rooms
and staff breakroom.
Assists the front desk staff with guest check in when busy.
Performs routine office duties including typing, answering phones and copying
material scanning and attaching incident, accident, end of shift reports.
Building walks and patron counts minimally every 30 minutes.
Rental/party checklists-ensuring guests are informed and leave the rooms in
good condition.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Recreation operations and philosophy
Ability to:
Learn to use a recreation computerized registration program and use calendars,
and email.
Work with the public effectively.
Handle emergency situations such as fire alarms and injuries.
Follow established guidelines concerning facility operations such as usage
policies, emergency
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or equivalent and experience involving public
contact.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age
Possession of a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
Possession of or ability to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR certification
within six (6) months of hire.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
