strategy.

Role Overview:
Our Digital Quality & Lab Instrument Integration team operates as a strategic
business partner, proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new
organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver
services and platforms that increase productivity, enable innovation, and
improve compliance across laboratory and manufacturing environments.
The Business Analyst (BA) will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating laboratory, quality, and operational needs into clearly defined, testable, and traceable requirements. The BA ensures that integration solutions delivered through platforms such as Scitara DLX, Empower, BIOVIA, MODA, GLIMS, and LabX align to business objectives, regulatory expectations, and end-user workflows.
This role has accountability for requirements lifecycle management, business process definition, and ensuring alignment between intended business outcomes and delivered system functionality.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to elicit
business needs, pain points, and desired outcomes.
• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and define
optimized workflows aligned to digital and integration strategies.
• Author and maintain requirements artifacts, including:
o Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
o Functional Specifications
o User Stories, Use Cases, and Process Flows
• Define clear test cases, acceptance criteria and support UAT planning and
execution.
• Facilitate requirements reviews, ensuring requirements are robust.
• Maintain requirements traceability through design, testing, validation, and
deployment.
• Support validation activities by ensuring business intent is accurately
represented and testable.
• Partner closely with Technical Analysts/Developers and Testers to ensure
feasibility, alignment, and quality delivery.
• Operate effectively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, global environment.
Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields: Engineering, Science, Computer Science,
Information Systems, or related discipline).
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in regulated environments
(pharmaceutical, life sciences, or manufacturing preferred).
• Demonstrated experience working within SDLC and validation frameworks (GxP,
cGMP).
• Strong understanding of lab operations, quality systems, or laboratory
informatics.
• Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence across organizational
boundaries.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting lab systems (Empower, BIOVIA, MODA, GLIMS, Scitara
DLX).
• Familiarity with change control processes (e.g. Veeva) and digital SDLC
(e.g. Kneat).
• Experience with digital workflows, data integrity, and compliance-driven
implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and requirements traceability
tools (e.g., Xray).
What Success Looks Like
Within 6 Months
• Independently leads requirements gathering for at least three active
instrument integration or digital workflow initiative.
• Delivers high-quality, testable requirements that are adopted by development
and testing teams with minimal rework.
• Establishes clear traceability between business objectives, requirements,
data map & flows, and test cases.
• Effectively supports UAT, ensuring business acceptance criteria are
validated.
• Builds trusted relationships with key business and technical stakeholders.
Within 12 Months
• Serves as a go-to BA for complex, cross-system integration initiatives.
• Demonstrates measurable improvements in business outcomes (e.g., reduced
manual steps, improved data integrity, streamlined workflows).
• Proactively identifies process improvement opportunities and influences
solution direction.
• Mentors junior analysts and contributes to BA standards, templates, and best
practices.
• Is recognized as a key contributor to successful, compliant digital lab
transformations.
