Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding with a brand-new specialty and emergency hospital in Dunwoody , following the success of our established Marietta location.

We're seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), and skilled Veterinary Assistants to join our founding Neurology team and help establish a new specialty service focused on advanced medicine and exceptional patient care.

Selected team members will receive paid onboarding and specialty training at our Marietta hospital before transitioning to Dunwoody.

Schedule

7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Full-Time Daytime Schedule

Your Impact as a Veterinary Neurology Technician

Neurology Nursing and Patient Care

  • Provide advanced nursing care for hospitalized neurologic patients
  • Assist neurologists with patient evaluations and consultations
  • Monitor neurologic status, comfort, mobility, and treatment response
  • Support patients experiencing seizures, IVDD, paresis, paralysis, and other neurologic conditions
  • Assist with rehabilitation and post-operative recovery
  • Advocate for patients and provide compassionate client support

Advanced Anesthesia and Procedural Support

  • Prepare patients for advanced diagnostics and procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Monitor patients using ECG, pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure, and temperature
  • Support neurosurgical and advanced neurologic procedures
  • Monitor high-risk patients and recognize changes in condition
  • Assist with ventilated patient care when applicable

MRI, CT, and Specialty Diagnostics

  • Prepare and safely position patients for MRI and CT
  • Support advanced diagnostic imaging workflows
  • Assist with CSF collection procedures
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory diagnostics
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation

Emergency and Specialty Collaboration

Neurologic patients often require care across multiple services. You'll work closely with:

  • Neurology
  • Emergency and Critical Care
  • Surgery and Anesthesia
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Other specialty nursing teams

You'll help support neurologic emergencies, patient stabilization, continuity of care, and effective communication across departments.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking veterinary professionals with 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience. Candidates with backgrounds in Neurology, Specialty Medicine, Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, Surgery, Anesthesia, or high-volume General Practice are encouraged to apply.

Required Experience

  • Strong foundation in veterinary nursing and patient care
  • Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Medication administration and patient monitoring
  • Laboratory diagnostics
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Ability to remain calm and organized during complex cases
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
  • Previous Veterinary Neurology or Specialty hospital experience
  • MRI or CT workflow experience
  • Advanced anesthesia monitoring
  • Emergency or ICU experience
  • Ventilator management experience
  • RECOVER CPR Certification

Experienced Veterinary Assistants with strong clinical skills and an interest in Neurology are also encouraged to apply.
